Do my needs require an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS)?
Lauyans & Company Small Parts Storage System (SPSS) units are suited for businesses of any size with limited storage space, loose inventory and/or expensive materials to protect.
Our SPSS combines the precise organization and complete protection of modular drawer storage with the high speed, the space savings and security of an automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS). This system's technology continues to be popular among large companies. Now, Lauyans & Company has developed a unique system superior in quality, yet cost-effective for all businesses.
Why should I consider a Vertical Lift Module (VLM) to address storage needs?
In a vertical lift module, small parts are safe and in their proper place, while easy to retrieve.
The Lauyans & Company SPSS unit saves floor space and is available at various heights to accommodate most facilities.
Simple controls allow for total management of storage placement and fast retrieval of small parts.
In Lean processes, Lauyans & Company's VLM can be the point-of-use storage necessary for tools and material. This allows for the use of limited floor space.
The storage tower is capable of handling a wide volume of high-density storage needs for any industry.up to 800 cubic feet of storage!
Finally, Lauyans & Company vertical lift modules are designed for quick and flexible installation.
How do Lauyans & Company SPSS units operate?
The unit consists of two fully enclosed towers of stacked trays arranged on shelves. Stored product remains stationary as a movable extractor platform automatically travels a center column. Using simple controls, the operator pulls a tray (choosing by tray, part number or description) and the tray is delivered to the operator at an ergonomically correct workstation. Tray return is automatic when one requests another location.
What are the size dimensions of these units? What is their maximum storage capability?
SPSS UNIT DIMENSIONS:
Machine Footprint - 69" X 99"
Machine Height - 12'-6" to 40' in 6" increments
LOAD CAPACITY:
500 lbs. capacity per tray
Total storage volume up to 800 cu. ft.
Are other tray sizes and capacities available?
Lauyans & Company standardized a single tray size of 26.5" deep x 56" wide with a capacity of 500 pounds. Standardization allows us to manufacture these units at a low cost while maintaining high quality and a reduced lead-time. While this size may not fit individual needs, it does satisfy 80-85% of applications.
In addition, this tray has been designed with ergonomic considerations to allow operators with less than normal physical capabilities to retrieve product comfortably.
Can multiple storage towers be used, for large or growing storage needs?
Yes, definitely. Lauyans & Company SPSS units are designed to stand alone, side-by-side or back-to-back. Configuration options save room and streamline use. Installation is a simple 2-3 day process, so units can be added as quickly as your changing needs.
How can the cost of an SPSS unit be justified over traditional shelving?
With traditional shelving, parts are exposed and hard to reach. Plus, inventories can't be easily monitored. Shelving often takes up valuable horizontal space, and when vertical, shelved parts always risk danger in falling.
A Lauyans & Company automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS):
Encloses parts fully (protects from external environment, theft & misplacement)
Provides assigned locations to organize parts
Eliminates ladders and exposed cables
Senses part placement to avoid overcrowding
Decreases inventory shrinkage
Ensures safety for employees

All unneeded controls have been eliminated, providing the highest quality and least expensive vertical lift module (VLM) on the market today. Lauyans & Company SPSS units can fit any business budget, small or large.
Why should I buy an SPSS from Lauyans & Company versus a competitor?
